11/12/19
Almost done with the first semester!
Reminder...the monthly is due next class, 11/14.
Your next project is an individual one, that will be broken down in three parts. This will also count as your Final for the semester.
Return of the Professional Interview
Requirements:
Each step is graded, so make sure to have it done on time. Late steps will be given a zero.
Step 1:
Step 2:
Step 3:
Do NOT wait to do this project. Film Making 1 will be using cameras for their final also. Missing a step date won't tank your final grade, but will affect your overall grade. I'm looking for something really good from you four. With your experience having already done Film 1, and the interview from last year, this shouldn't be an issue. It can be humorous, but not unprofessional.
If you're stuck on who to interview, you have a ton of teachers you could ask on campus, local shops around the Town Green, family, etc.
Your only other project till the end of the semester will be the Nov/Dec monthly. Which will be due 12/11.

Your next project is individual - The Re-Edit.
The goal of this project, is to re-edit a movie trailer and change the theme to something totally different. You are allowed to use any footage from the movie/show you choose. So, don't feel limited by the trailer itself.
While it might seem just changing the music will change a lot, it's not enough. You'll need to think about how the scenes work together.
Requirements:
Around 2 mins long.
Use only footage from the movie/show you choose.
Here are a few examples of re-edits.

Morning! To start your week, I'd like you all to review the video on the right about After Effects. Some of this you'll know, some you won't. Ready for this next project? It's called: Make something in AE Instructions: After watching the video, I want you all to use the tools you know, ones he's explained, and maybe ones you teach yourself during this project to create a animation in AE. This is an individual project. This is a very open ended project, I'm going to go over what I DO NOT want to see, rather than what I want to see. I don't want to see meme driven content. It get old fast. You can be funny without it being meme driven. Nothing crude or hateful. That's about it for limits! It should be at least 15 seconds long. But, if it's 15 seconds long, and really basic, I'm going to ask you to keep going with it. Put in time and effort into this. You'll be graded on what you use in AE, and how creative you do it. Ask questions if you don't understand something. I'm putting a loose due date on this for the 27th. As this is a new project, and our first jump back into AE, I will see how everyone us doing daily. Use your time well. If I extend the due date, it'll be because everyone is working hard, and it's just taking a long time. |

Today, we have a sub. Even if you know her, treat her with respect. Continue to work on your Film Trade project. With all the footage you have, you shouldn't be done yet. Want a hint? Don't forget about J and L cuts! I'm expecting to see at least a couple of these. Lastly, I'll need one of you to compile all the shots in a new sequence so they play back to back. Render that out and submit that also. This way I can see all the content you had to work with, for reference for your projects. PLEASE REFER TO THE FILM 1 SECTION FOR INFORMATION ON YOUR ONCE A MONTH FILM CHALLENGE. |

Today you all will be working as a team loosely. You will be doing an advanced version of the Film Trade project that Film 1 is doing.
Project details: Film Trade 2.0
Settings for use: 1080p at 24 fps.
You will be graded on your creativity, and how well I can tell what the story is about.

Project details: Film Trade 2.0
- Each team member is to have themselves filmed (or do it themselves if solo) two, one minute shots. These can be b-roll like, contain dialogue, etc. But you must star in it solo. If you're going to use dialogue, make sure it isn't so off the wall that it's difficult to use.
- You will then share your footage with each other, so everyone has the same footage.
- Lastly, you'll edit this footage together to tell a story as best as you can. Use music, color correction, etc. to help sell your story.
- Your final version must be 2 minutes long (or as close as possible).
